Brass Fasteners for Plumbing
Brass has been the standard material for plumbing fasteners and fittings for over a century. Its natural resistance to water corrosion, compatibility with copper and plastic pipework, and excellent machinability for precision fittings make it indispensable in plumbing systems. RKIC Group supplies lead-free brass fasteners approved for potable water applications.
Why Brass for Plumbing?

Frequently Asked Questions
Is brass safe for potable water applications?
Lead-free brass grades (C260, C270) are approved for potable water applications. RKIC Group supplies lead-free brass fasteners with NSF/WRAS compliance documentation available on request. Always specify 'potable water approved' or 'lead-free' on your order.
What is DZR brass and when should I use it?
DZR (Dezincification Resistant) brass contains additives (typically arsenic or antimony) that prevent zinc leaching in aggressive water conditions. Use DZR brass in soft water, acidic water, hot water above 60°C or water with high chloride content — common in coastal areas.
Do you supply BSP threaded brass fasteners?
Yes. RKIC Group manufactures brass fasteners and fittings with BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads in both parallel (BSPF) and tapered (BSPT) forms. Available in 1/8" to 2" BSP sizes. Metric thread sizes also available for European plumbing markets.
